Earlier this year, we decided to spend a whole bunch of money on cancer treatments for my 10 year old shorthair, Chaos. In the best case scenario for a healthy shorthair, they only usually live to 12 to 14 years and often those last years are retirement from hunting. He appears to be in full remission and doing some of his best field work yet. Yesterday was yet another day he made me proud. He didn't miss a mark or lose a bird. I'll remember those hunts way longer than I'll miss the money spent.
