Do the back of the niche with the decorative tile you use in the listello or with the shower floor tile. Ditch the Kerdi dividers and have 3/8" glass shelves cut and safety film applied, makes it look at lot cleaner and less bulky.

I seldom use solid dividers/shelves in any niches anymore, the glass is so much better.

Schulter is always matched to the fixture colors. Inset it where you only see the narrow profile from the outside of the niche, the long leg will face the interior of the niche.

I use either the synthetic 6" material on curbs, niche bases or wall caps or have my granite guy cut a cap from the slab I'm using on the tops for those, ties everything in.

Oh and Schulter All-set is easier to work with, more working time, has a higher bond and waterproof rating than most other thin-sets.

So far so good.

Yep - glass shelf is the plan. I already have the Schluter channel for it - I think it's for 1/2" glass. May be 3/8", but yeah. I just had that foam divider sitting there that came with the pre-fabbed niche. We're also doing a complimentary glass tile on the back wall of the niche.

I also have some of the quartz left over from the threshold and wall cap that I'm planning to use as the bottom shelf. And been using that Schluter All-Set since I finished waterproofing the shower. I like it MUCH more than the Mapei. Looks like we on the same page.

Check your local tile supplier they keep the glass shelves in stock around here.

It won't. That was planned, ese.

And we have baseboards in our house.

EDIT: And furthermore, there is vertical Schluter strip (edging for the rest of you) that will end at the orange band on the wall. That means one of the wall tiles gets notched right there.

Due to close proximity, my shluspicion is that whoever is parked on the shlutter is going to get shplashed by whoever is in the shlower. Put a danged curtain up, wouldja?
