    Tap from the side with chisel or flathead and hammer. Go ahead and attach vice grips to keep valve stem from turning.

    If that doesn’t work drop sink from stone counter top so you can cut them off from the side.

    Not that hard, you’re just over thinking it.

    According to the screen actors guild, it took 6 weeks. Total time of physical contact with the sink was about 1 1/2 hours, including install of the new hardware. Regrettably, I did have to resort to brute force with a chisel and hammer.
