This is my 11 year old, Garrett. I'm the "take your kids hunting so you won't always be hunting your kids" guy, so I've made a commitment that I'm not going to be too busy to walk the walk anymore. Let's see them younguns cutting some feathers.

PCole, if you think that boy can knock out a squirrel with that shotgun holler at me after deer season and we’ll let Jake find him a few one day

We didn't have birds today, so my 9 year old threw rocks at hay bales all morning. It wore him out and got him out of the house on the opener, I'll take it.

We got skunked, and the boy got distracted with dragonflies, grasshoppers, and everything else about 3 hours in, but he said he had fun and wants to go back. I always said I wouldn't force hunting on him if he wasn't into it, but he really seemed to like it, even though it was slow and 400 degrees out.

Three generations and old friend who has now hunted with all three generations. The two youngest members of this motley crew killed their first birds this afternoon. If you were in the field you probably heard my son holler when my seven year old grandson killed his first one.

Well, I kind of have to confess, when we got to where we were going to sit, I set mine and the boy's chairs up, got us a bottle of water out, and right time I broke his gun down to put his Barney Fife shell in, I heard a shot from down the field. I turned and had a mile high bird coming right at us. I slammed his gun shut and let her sing. I turned back around and got the wth look, and promptly explained how important it was that I make sure his gun was functioning properly. I didn't have the fortitude to tell him ol dad just smooth whiffed.

Andrew had 4 hats to choose from and look at which one he chose.

Ended up with 3. Didn't get a ton of opportunities The shots I missed were the tough ones. I made the shots I should have and I'm ok with that.

Chief was happy. Andrew was happy too so alls well that ends well.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
