    Default YOU are the problem

I've always enjoyed this forum. But, after reading for some time, I have come to the conclusion that YOU (and I include myself in that) are the problem. We all think that WE are right because we all think pretty much along the same lines (conservative, etc.). But, from the comments I see on this forum, YOU are the problem just as much as people that think differently than YOU.

Below are some examples from this very forum:

    1. You love capitalism and are quick to tell socialist how great it is. BUT, as soon as something that YOU want to buy is "expensive", you cry about the price and want something done. I've seen it on boats, houses, UTVs, land, trucks, farming equipment, etc.

    2. You hate welfare and are quick to tell socialist how terrible it is. BUT, YOU love when YOU get a government handout. I see it in farming subsidies, purchasing more public land, increasing funding to manage public land or wildlife, laws or funding that benefit business, etc. The list could go on forever, because a lot of government spending is welfare for someone/something (anything other the core functions of defense, infrastructure, and judicial).

    3. You cry about government red tape and too many laws. BUT, when one of your hobbies or interests isn't going like YOU want, YOU want more laws and restrictions put in place so it can be how YOU like it.

All this to say, YOU are just as much of the problem as the next man. Take ownership of that and make the world better and not just a better version for YOU.

try posting this when people think you are an asshole....

you are pointing out hypocrisy. I do it every day around here. No one seems to own a mirror.

I tend to agree with you on the above points....but i dont think people are gonna change. it happens on both sides of the aisle.

But if the stuff we think would make the world better only makes it better for us, is it even possible to make the world better?

If I were an FBI mole on this site and wanted to add some names to my watch list, I would start a thread just like this...

I’m offended and ask the moderators to ban this individual. I thought this was a safe place.

My point of the thread is for us all to realize that we are sinful, selfish, and proud people. The sooner we all realize that, the sooner we can actually see progress in the world.

And personally I think the only way is through faith in Jesus Christ. Until a man realizes how sinful he personally is, he is of little help to those around him.

You're correct, but that would require humbling oneself. Something about a camel and the eye of a needle......

I've read the Book. The world "progresses" to the point where evil takes over then Jesus returns. Jesus returning is progression toward the New Heaven and New Earth but the current "world" is actually, in my opinion, going to digress to that point.

Politics is the problem. When we all realize that we are Americans and start to put our personnel opinions and what benefits us directly to the side and look at what benefits America things might start getting better but until then it is what it is. Let the politicians set the example (which they wont) and then others will follow.

I would like for the government to just leave me the hell alone. It is always the other side whichever side you are on and whichever side is in power that passes laws to favor their views and to regulate the things the others do that they don't like. Live and let live is the motto as long as it doesn't effect others, not going to happen. We are in a divided world where right is wrong, good is bad, evil is good. We are currently being punished for just being Americans by oour own government and the induced pain is ramping up every day
