Y’all are sick for it….nice pics

Well we are headed back. 12” of snow on the way, stale ducks/geese and I need to get back to the shop.
Over 3000 birds harvested
I blew the motor in my truck. Be on the lookout for a new to me in the next couple weeks.
Losing water by the day hopefully the winter will bring snow to help fill sloughs.
Should be a burner in the AM for the farmers. They are so incredibly generous and it’s like walking back in time to how folks used to treat each other.
A few pics to tide me over until SC season.

Mighty fine, Joey. I feel like most people sit here and just assume it is automatic up there. That is not the case. A lot of work and fuel goes into those grinning pics. Travel safe

It definitely was my hardest year out west in dry fields. Hunted water a dozen times.
Meeting farmers and spending time in their slice of heaven is so much fun. Birds were just acting different this year. The last 6 days was the hardest.
Onto our season and picking some time to sneak out west for a hunt or two. I need to work the counter at Mack’s a day or two maybe in December/January.
I’ll shoot you a text tomorrow to catch up
Mature adults from past seasons maybe? Seasoned birds are definitely a challenge.
After 25 years of hunting the end of the Mississippi flyway, ducks have seen and heard it all, mix in seasoned adult birds, a lack of juveniles and it gets even more challenging.
Get home safe Joey and hope to see you soon.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.
