Emily’s House isn’t hard for me, it’s an honor to glorify God and the gift he gave me for 15 years. All of you have contributed through the auction and donations. Others as well. There’s some dang fine people on this site who have donated their homes for our use too. My sister does most of the coordinating prior to the recipients arrival, I just handle logistics when they’re here, listen, offer any advice or knowledge they have and on Friday nights, cook them a meal. Give the credit to God, I’m just the tool he chose to use

We just had a family from around Mobile, AL a few weeks ago. He’s 36 and was diagnosed in February. She’s late 20’s, kids are 5, 2 and 1. He’s inoperable and they’re at the mercy of limited insurance and care. That’s hard to see, especially when the little 5yo girl hugs you and thanks you for the best week ever with her daddy. Kicks you in the gut but humbles you to know that she’ll have those memories.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

This thread strikes home. Having gone through the care and loss of my wife and brother due to cancer, the only solace I have found is what the Good book teaches us. That in heaven we are restored . And reunited with our loved ones when we join them. I pray daily that it is true.

My brother was a gifted Anesthesiologist. He was a devout man and suffered. Never asked " why me" He told me that the frailty of the human condition affects everyone of us. He ( and my wife ) made me promise to watch over our flock. I try. My brother's children are all educated and thriving. My girls have done very well and it's due to their own drive more than anything I have provided.

That said , the loss of a parent is a very tough thing for a child to experience. All of us need these reminders that life is short and we need to value the good in the world in our lives more than the bad. I see my wife every time I look into my daughters eyes. It's a hole that is never filled.

My daily prayers are lengthy as I have a long list of people who can use them . I also have a long list of blessings that I am thankful for. For those I am grateful. Every day is a gift.

Melody gained her Heavenly form last night, free of pain, free of sickness and in the presence of God and Jesus Christ. Prayers continues for the Morris family as they cope with her loss.

Will continue to pray for her family. I'm sure she is dancing in the streets of heaven now.
