Interesting. I was down to Venice in May and asked the guide (older man), who was all too happy for us to keep redfish, if he was concerned about coming out everyday and watching his business go home in coolers. His response was that LA has such a healthy population that he did not see it being an issue anytime soon.

Im pretty sure the slot limits are the same as here but one thing that gets me is you’re allowed to keep two over the slot fish which is apparently breeder size. After seeing the decline (and obvious rebound) of redfish here I tend to disagree with the guide and seeing the number of people come in and out of just one marina for three days with coolers full of fish, I think they should probably do something to help the population. Could be wrong but that’s just my thought.

That guy is a yankee and it sounds like he and the guys that give him reports all suck at fishing. That video is very similar to a fishing report from 2oof.

Todd Maason is a good dude and knows redfish.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

I have never fished LA but is on my bucket list. Have several friends that go every year and wear specs and reds out

However I have never understood why they let people keep the big bulls, even if only 2 of them

Even have my doubts at how good they would be to consume
