Andrew - I’ve been invaded by those things at my place in Chester the last few years in the summer but for some reason not as bad this year. Still a few but not enough to worry about. Also built on a slab. Exterminator has been zero help

Between those things and ladybugs in the fall it makes it unlivable for a while

I mean it's to the point that the baby and the puppy don't even want to play with them anymore. There are just that many

Do you have a mulch or compost, grass clippings pile somewhere close by? Second on the Talstar or Biden product on the exterior perimeter. FJB, it is his fault.

and they have a peculiar odor. sort of like anise.
i hate them. I gave a few months of my life to their eradication. you can listen to all these yahoos talk about their experiences with them and how they spray deadly chemicals and still deal with them,
or you can find the fucking water and make them go away.
i am always right and this is another example.
now go put your phone in front of your kids so they all put those fake smiles on.
and stop eating sugar and biting your nails.
geez. we've been over this before.....

and then come plug in my monitor
    or fix my fridge.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

    feel better?

If I had a leak somewhere wouldn't they all go to the same place? They are evenly distributed through the house

they coming from under the slab, then.
or near it. i dont know their freaking life cycle. I reckon they are born near water and then disperse all over your house. who cares? just listen (for once).
find the water. make the water go away. the stinky little fuckers you are complaining about will cease to bother you any more.

or spray bifen on them and kill them while they keep reproducing so you can spray and kill tomorrow's stinky annoying fuckers tomorrow and every other day if that's something you want to do. I'm not sure how you'll find time to fix my monitor, though.

    i feel great.

Either spray with bifenthrin or make friends with them. I spray my eaves with bifen and not a spider dares to make a web for 9 months.

They’ve got an entry point somewhere and they’re just coming in to escape the heat and look for food(?). Find that entry point and spray it, then seal it.

OK so I've heard enough about this bifen stuff, what precautions do you need to take to spray it? mask, goggles, body suit? How safe is it around pets? Wild birds? Ponds? Should I start another thread?

i spray bifen with a dip in and try not to get it in my eyes when i'm spraying under the shed. it tastes funny. kinda frothy, like milk. oh and it'll kill your dog so dont spray too much on him or in his water bowl.

honestly, that is what I do. once it dries, i'm pretty sure my dog wont go lick the paint. I spray it around the pond. i have not seen fish floating. its a bug killer like the terminix guy uses and I dont see them too worried.

    universal precautions make sense.

We use an exterminator. It is a quarterly fee and they come back whenever there is a problem, without extra fees.
My wife, who I love dearly, thinks every bug in the house is a serious invasion. I used to treat myself but found that quarterly pest control is cheaper than marriage counseling.
