    Default Millipedes?

So had these things all throughout the house last summer. Never could find where they came from. Maybe lasted 3 weeks last summer. Fast forward to this summer I've had the same problem only it has lasted close to 2 months. You can sweep them all up and the next day there are the same amount or more. Talked to an exterminator and he said they were likely coming through a crack somewhere in the concrete slab and the only real solution was to spray the interior perimeter of the house and they would die when they crossed it. Not real comfortable spraying that in my house with 3 young kids and a puppy and frankly not real excited about having to sweep them up every day. Anyone have this issue or maybe an idea on a solution?

VG, when I bought my house it had sat empty for about a year. It’s built on a slab and those things were all throughout the house. I had a guy spray regularly the first year or two and they slowly went away. Haven’t seen one in years now.

Introduce centipedes. They don’t seem to get along.

Your kids consume more chemicals and insecticide on their food in a day than they’ll contact from an exterminator spraying household approved products.

Beyond that I can’t help ya.

I’ve got them all over by the basement walk-out doors… but fortunately they are all dead because I spray the base perimeter of the house and basement exit walkway with talstar for ants. The thing is that I can sweep the concrete clean, and in a few days I’ll have a few hundred more dead ones. I haven’t figured out the base source, but I haven’t really looked either.

If you can’t locate an internal crack you can caulk or spray in to, spray the outside perimeter fit just a few inches, but soaked into the ground a bit.

I have a new home on a slab and they have been awful in the basement. It has been 3 months of this crap. Spraying inside helps and it is starting to subside.
Just new home situation given the exposed slab this winter. No leak. Dry as a bone down there.

What did you spray? Or did you have someone do it?

We use an exterminator. It is a quarterly fee and they come back whenever there is a problem, without extra fees.
My wife, who I love dearly, thinks every bug in the house is a serious invasion. I used to treat myself but found that quarterly pest control is cheaper than marriage counseling.
