That was one of the only two big processors here in town. Rock House Road will have a heck of a year

Yes this sucks, really liked taking at least 1 a year to them for all the extra stuff they did

Not sure if Page’s in Abbeville will open this year or not

Harpers in Anderson quit last year but new place opened up off 29S Generostee Creek Meats. Took 2 to them , good job

Rock House was having great years even with Back 40 open. They were already turning business away weekly during the season due to freezers being full.

According to Back 40, they're still open for beef and pork. Just not deer. Say cost of supplies and staffing issues are to blame.

I just meant they will get even more business than normal.

Ihaven't taken a deer there since Glenn Jones sold it. I can't say anything good or bad since it became Back 40 but I have heard a couple people say some negative things.

I do know that all the processors take theor meat to Bobby Parker at Rockhouse for the specialty meats.

I have been using he meat locker and I have been pleased. They dont offer a bunch of options which I am fine with

Where is The Meat Locker? Glenn (Northwest) had the best hash around. Need a new spot. Back 40 could not replicate it.

There's a couple around here that have decided to just do cows and pigs now. I'm assuming that means we'll be that much busier this year.

Year round business and most booked out 9-12 months. Smart of them.

Went to the slaughter house Saturday to pickup some fresh sausage for myself and friends. Had a guy at work asking about buying half a cattle and no one willing, so I asked them while there. Yes I could get on the list waiting list, one year. I said what if I bring my cows. They said I could get on the list two years. Unbelievable. Small Abattoirs up our way are going away or reducing services. Deer processing was always a way for a little extra cash and work for the slow times.

Does anyone on here raise and kill their own hogs and cows these days. Need a co-op
