we are catching a couple every day. the rockfish are averaging 10 to 12 pounds. most of the boats are catching one or two per trip. still wearing out the catfish. the largest so far this year was 80 pound blue. i hope the weather will break soon...

50 pounders are caught almost daily. If we really knew how many big cats were swiming up the river, it would suprise everyone. For the last four years are so, we have been weighing at least one or two 50 pound blues and flatheads a week. I am now using 40 pound test line on my reels. Too many broken lines in the last few months. I think that there are plenty of rockfish running the river now. They just haven't been biting well. we just need about a week of warm weather.

Will-I believe I made it to your sister's (Kat) wedding-I was the Hartsville redneck that looked lost. I think GRW was there too.

a 110 pound catfish was caught this past week in Louisiana, new state record. I can't believe it didnt break the canepole.

Also a 4 inch--4 ounce Bluefish won the biggest blue of the month at the Apache Pier, won the man money too.

I guarantee, we have catfish well over 150 pounds. I have hooked many fish that smoked the reels. I beleive that we will eventually see a fish come in weighing in around the 150s.

Hopefully the rock are waiting for me this time. I hate it for yall but for every week they don't turn on is a week closer to when we get back down there. For what it is worth, the fishing around here has been spotty as well. The ocean won't warm up enough to get the fish moving. Should be any day now. But we have been saying that for about three weeks now.

We have reservations at the State Park for April 30 through May 9. I don't know if I will be able to spend the entire time down there. All depends on getting a coulple of big projects out of here before I leave. I am shooting for the whole week then my wife and coulple of her friends will probably spend the last of the vacation down there.

We helped with the weigh in etc. last year. If I do any good earlier in the week I may enter it this year. Kind of hard to try to fish a tourney like that w/o spending much time before hand and with the luck I have been having for the past couple of years with fishing in general I would be throwing my money away.
