    For what it's worth,my dad went today and caught 9 stripers and he's 80.

    I know nothing about rockfish. He has been catching some in the 20 to 25 inch range.

    Yeah; I have never had anyone teach me about those. I have always heard them called rockfish as another name.

    I guess if you use guts (from gizzard shad) it's a rockfish and if you only use live herring bought from bait world it's a striper.
