Dumbing us down because public people cannot practice restraint seems a bit off. I personally don't care what yall pay to hunt, I feel like most owners have more invested into it.
You guys might be reaching a bit with the Socialism comments. As in reaching towards full mental retardation.
Not really, you're attacking private ownership. It's different here, we're not some western Hippie hipster state.
I've seen other members saying you come across bitter because you hunt public land . But you say that's by choice . I think you just got on a club with to many members. All clubs aren't like that you may need to give it another try at a different club. I own the property I hunt because I don't play well with others.
Check out Jimmy-come-lately telling us how to do it better.
Bless his heart.
Like I've said before, coming into a forum knowing I hold very strong opinions others disagree with is going to cause issues because stuff gets taken the wrong way online. Tone and all that stuff isn't evident through text. And I'm not even denying that sometimes I've been the one to take someone's comment to me the wrong way and maybe respond harshly. It happens, I ain't perfect.
I've discussed these things many times in person and stood firmly in my beliefs. No punches were thrown or even voices raised.
Oh and I did try a different club, they literally told me I either had to have an ATV to access stands in the back or stick to the front half LOL. What a joke. They said walking to the back of the property "left too much scent". I don't have an ATV and don't want one.

Even though I don't hunt turkeys, I'm pretty sure latitude has something to do with breeding periods,....meaning there is some science used to set seasons.
And the last club I was in averaged 500 acres per hunter. It had ducks, deer, turkey, and hogs.

Of course. I get that. But why should private land have an extra week to hunt? If the science has determined that Mar 22 - Apr 30 is the appropriate season in the lower part of the state, why do public land hunters have to wait until April 1? Private land already gets 4 or 5 days to hunt with Sundays, they need a whole extra week too?
I used to complain about lease prices, corn, and what not, but the price is the price. I accept that. I choose to participate of my own free will. We get to shoot deer early, turkey early, and pigs anytime you want. Lots of lake to fish multiple species. Enjoy what you got.
