I like Rinella. My kids love his show. I agree with many of the comments here about him being a good ambassador and showing the multi-faceted sides of being a NBK. I enjoy his podcast- he's smart and he has a lot of smart guests on his show, including Glenn's boyfriend who loves heavy arrahs.

I know you're making her both confident and competent with hunting. The rest will be up to her.

My sister and niece never have hunted but they'll binge on Meat Eater for hours - go figure.
Yep....Just read the story of Jacob and Esau in the Bible.

She's 10. I'm pretty sure her prospects and goals will shift a few dozen times before it's go time.

Buy her a mustang (car, not horse) in 5 years and sit back and watch.

Rinella has some things that annoy me, but pretty much everyone has a quirk other ppl don’t like (including myself). With that said, I enjoy his content much more than anyone else in the hunting genre. He’s articulate and does a good job getting his thoughts across, I can appreciate that.

I can say I haven’t watched hunting shows much in the last 15+ years, but I usually watch whatever they put out on Netflix. Tacky guitar rifts and 30 minute infomercials for hunting products are the worst, I’m glad he’s put out a “deeper” (for lack of better term) show.

    You don't start training a dog when they're 10.

Light shocks with tone now so all you'll have to do is tone her later.

Duly noted. I have to be careful. This one is the one that'll take care of me when I am old.

You got that right. The oldest daughter (I'm assuming) is the one you have to be selfish about- she'll be wiping your ass some day.

I’ve never seen an episode of meateater but has anyone else ever watched “Farming the Wild”. It’s a similar, field to fork premise, but the guy is a chef from England. Sometimes he cooks the meal in the field and other times it’s cooked to serve at one of his restaurants where wild game can be sold in England. Some of the meals he prepares are a little high-falutin’ for my palate but overalls it’s pretty interesting to see how differently they hunt over there compared to the way we do things.

After I knock out a few western and Alaska hunts, I plan to give hunting across the pond a try. There’s supposed to be some excellent big game and bird hunting over there.

I read Rinella's book American Buffalo and enjoyed it.

His MeatEater show is a different style than most of the hunting shows and I prefer it to the hunting-meets-NASCAR-and-professional-wrestling genre.
