    Default Strange one

Unidentified sea creature shows up along North Carolina beach
The creatures are about six inches long and no longer alive.

    2:09 PM EDT Jul 21, 2022

    CAPE LOOKOUT, N.C. —
An unidentified, mysterious sea creature has appeared along a North Carolina beach and the National Parks Service wants your help to figure out what it is.

The Cape Lookout National Seashore turtle patrol recently found the creatures on the ocean side of the beach adjacent to a log covered in goose-neck barnacles.

"So far, we're stumped as to what they might be," Cape Lookout National Seashore said in a Facebook post.

They said they are about six inches long and no longer alive.

The best guess the park service said they had was a form of sea cucumber (or sea slug?), but said they couldn't be matched to any images that were posted online.

Has anyone seen anything like this along the North Carolina coast (that's the western Atlantic Ocean) before?

If so, let the park service know here.

Not sure what they used for search terms but they'd probably be able to find it in a search of Chinese menu pictures.

    Some sort of nudibranch....
Haven't used that word in almost 30 years.

Hahahahaha!!! Chaka is like 70 which makes me old too.

Ain't got scheduled to see Chaka this year, but I will be seeing Mother's Finest featuring Joyce " Baby Jean" Kennedy on 9/10 /22. They open for ARS at the Fred. Something to live for. Baby Jean is 74. Mother's Finest used to do all our on-campus concerts back in the day. Gut Pile, his Mama and Diddy are coming with. Should be an interesting tail gate event before the show.
