    Default 410 birdshot

    Damn it's hard to find....

I've gone through the usual suspects on the www for the past few months with no luck......Natchez, Midway, Rogers etc.

I check Academy and Nichols from time to time, nothing.

Cabela's never has what I need so haven't been there in a while but I've lost all faith in them.

Anyone know where I could find a few boxes?

www.ammoseek.com always has something for you. Filter what you need and it'll find it.

Keep check on Federal Premiums website. You can buy directly off their website and I’ve found it there fairly regularly. Unless you want 3” shells….those have been more difficult to get at a price anywhere close to reasonable.

I enjoy breaking out the over an under .410, but when I run out of shells I’ll be back to a 12 or 20. To hell with $25/box for a 2 1/2”shell! Shit is getting out of hand round here!
If you give 10 people a bag of gold, someone will complain about how heavy it is!

Anything to worry about with these off-brands I'm seeing on ammoseek?

Bornaghi, Gurel, American Tactical, Noblesport....I've never heard of them before.

son1 shot bornaghi shells when shells were hard to come by.
he has become an asshole like fish and comments on EVERyTHING like he can tell one shell from another in how much smoke comes out or shit is in his barrel or the recoil. its all bullshit that FISH taught him. and if he misses, you can bet your ass its because of the arrow, not the indian.

anywho....i dont remember too many complaints on those shells but i stopped listening to him (and FISH) in 2003.

i'd be glad to run to barrons at lunch, though. just let me know.

I can personally vouch for the Bornaghi's - good quality, eye-talian made shells. Have shot several flats of the 12 gauge golds. Have no experience with American Tactical (also Italian) or Gurel. Have seen a lot of Nobel Sports in the empty hull/trash barrels but have only shot a few boxes. I wouldn't hesitate to get more Bornaghi's.

If you click on the links it takes you to some online ammo shop and often times you can see customer reviews of that particular ammo. I buy a lot of stuff from there, mostly stuff I've shot and know it's dependable. But when I needed some trash 9mm ammo for range time and wasn't interested in paying $1 or more per round for it back when prices were insane and you couldn't find any, that was the place to go and get off brands for cheaper. Cheap ammo is better than no ammo. Wouldn't trust the stuff to keep in my EDC mags for self defense but for practicing at the range it was a great buy.
