    Default Death on Lake Murray

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on July 3 at Lake Murray near the Dreher Island State Park in Newberry County according to officials.

The 35-yer-old man was in a tube being pulled by a jet ski when he was killed when the tube collided with another watercraft say, officials.

I saw some of the LEO's headed up that way. I'm truly surprised there weren't more incidents with number of folks I saw. The people on jet skis that zip in and around boats is crazy. I also saw a few following tubers and skiers really close, I assume they were filming.

Honestly I'm surprised that we dont see more of that stuff. I ran a good bit of Hartwell Sat and Sun and a little today. Portman to Clemson yesterday was a shit show. My head was on a swivel the whole time. My 15 yo son normally runs the boat, but not during all of that. Pontoons and jet skis are the devil, those things ooze inexperience. I would be running along on a straight line in the channel and at the last minute someone would cut right in front of me and then flip me a bird like it was my fault. On a good note, DNR, Sheriffs Dept and Corps were pulling people at the bridges that somehow didn't get the memo that those are no wake zones. We have a VRBO house in our cove and I am doing a little boat etiquette training with some of those morons on a regular basis.

I was on public water all weekend in 2 areas of the state and everything was fine, maybe a little busier than usual but everyone had a great time. I’m not going to let the off chance of running into an idiot keep me home.

It wasn’t that bad down here. Rain forecast kept everyone off the water.

Went on Watauga Lake today, it was fine, didn’t even have to wait in line at the ramp …. Don’t know what kind of kinks the guy above me is into, but it was much more enjoyable than my dick in a blender.

I was in the swamp all day Saturday. Aside from one idiot in a Havoc, which 9 times out of 10 is the swamp version of a jet ski, it was pleasant.

Had family in from out of state. Took them out to watch the boat parade on Murray from near Spence Island. Crowd wasn't too bad. Theme was a tribute to a hero. (military, first responder, teacher, etc) The boat flying the gay pride flag made it THE last boat parade for me.

I was blown away seeing a guy on a paddle board off Goat Island, in big water. Seemed like he had a death wish. Like cyclists on Broad River Rd riding towards Peak.

We were out yesterday and a bit today. Not that much different than any other weekend in Charleston. Normal idiots, but no more than normal.

I was fishing on the North end of Keowee (launched at Crowe Creek) on Saturday and it was a mess after about 9am. I had a good morning of fishing, had bass on the stringer, and had no desire to see what the lake was going to turn into.

I'm a kayak angler so I was pretty aggravated with all the wake boats, jets skis, etc blowing right through the no wake zones. A lot of them closer to me than they should have been.

To be honest, I wish SC had just left all these rivers as rivers so we could peacefully fish without all the retards.
