Default Bill to outlaw lead bullets

Lead Endangers Animals Daily Act of 2022 or the LEAD Act of 2022

This bill directs the Department of the Interior to promulgate final regulations prohibiting the discharge of a firearm using ammunition other than nonlead ammunition included on the list established pursuant to this bill on all lands and waters under the jurisdiction and control of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Interior shall establish and annually update a list of nonlead ammunition.

The prohibition shall not apply to (1) a government official or agent who is carrying out a statutory duty unrelated to the management of wildlife; (2) a state, local, tribal, or federal law enforcement officer, or the agent of such an officer, who is carrying out a statutory duty; or (3) an active member of the U.S. military who is carrying out official duties.

The regulations promulgated pursuant to this bill shall provide that any person that knowingly violates the prohibition may be assessed a civil penalty by Interior of (1) no more than $500 for the first violation, and (2) no less than $1,000 or more than $5,000 for each subsequent violation.

Their own healthcare and now, lead bullets.

Dang those politicians really do have our best interest at heart.

Yep. Wait till they hear about all the cripples from arrows. Then they get rid of them, too. Natural progression will lead right to "Why can they shoot a deer on their farm with an arrow. That's not fair", dividing us further.

Huge swaths of unhuntable government forestland would lead to some wildlife challenges that they have no idea will be coming...

It would be interesting to see what a lawyer could do with the 'knowingly violates' aspect of that regulation.

Hey - It would be interesting to see what would happen if it started costing duck hunters $45 every time they unloaded their gun as they whiffed on that nice group of ringnecks...

They don't care about cripples. They just care about the glorified buzzards who feed on gut piles and steal peoples ducks before the dog can get to them.

Back in the 70’s, the State of Michigan bowed to activists and put a one year moratorium on killing does. The following year the auto insurance companies threw a fit because there were a ton of additional deer/car collisions, and upwards of 20K
deer were found dead from starvation across the state.

    The doe season was reopened.

This is nothing more than another chip away at the rights of hunters disguised as caring for the environment. Eliminating lead bullets drives up the cost of ammunition for those who want to continue hunting and will certainly lower participation.

This particular bill may die but this isn't the first round of talks we've seen about banning all lead ammunition. It'll eventually happen and the TSS shot that is now $15 each will be even more expensive when it does happen. How expensive will copper .30 cal bullets be for deer?

As they eliminate hunters they break the backbone of the 2nd Amendment. Then the real fun starts.

Outlaw the most common component of bullets, have as many of the alphabet agencies as possible order unrealistic amounts of commonly used ammo, force Winchester to prohibit public sales of 5.56 ammo if they want to keep their government contract, slow walk NFA applications by adding bureaucratic obstacles, etc., etc. This is how the left does things that couldn't get through Congress with a real vote. This is why the SCOTUS decision against the EPA yesterday was a good start in disassembling the Deep State machine.

Don't let science distract you from an agenda. Obviously lead bullets discharged by the po-po or the military do not harm Bald Eagles. Only guys like us shooting deer or small game.

Just like how going into a mom n pop hardware store during the Summer of 2020 was dangerous so they were shut down in many areas. But going into Home Depot was fine.

Well, If they want to outlaw lead bullets on federal land maybe we should get behind the guy in Georgia that wants to do away with the Pittman Robinson act that taxes Sporting goods. The tax generated about 1.6 billion a year for the USFWS.
If they don't want our lead bullets then they shouldn't have our tax dollars.

They don’t care about buzzards. They are casually taking away your 2nd amendment rights through the back door.

A gun is a rock/club when you have nothing with which to feed it.
