    Default Smoked/Pulled Squirrel

I did an experiment yesterday and it turned out quite well. Smoked 2 squirrels then put them in broth with onions in the oven at 250. They needed about 2 hours to soak in moisture to where the meat could be pulled off easily.

Simple recipe. Salt and pepper on the whole squirrels as desired then smoke them until fully cooked. Use an electric smoker and pellets if you celebrated "pride" month or if you think Sunday hunting should remain illegal on WMAs.

For heterosexual men like myself, I use a Weber and smoked it over oak wood that I chopped.

The onions in the broth aren't necessary but I think they add a good flavor and get really tender. Check with a fork to see if some of the meat starts pulling off, you will have to flip the squirrels once or twice in the broth stage to make sure some parts aren't getting dried out while some are getting tender.

Put your favorite BBQ sauce on it and you're good to go! I'm gonna have to do this again next year with 6 or 7 and have Duck Cutter over for dinner. I killed these squirrels over his dog.

    Purty

Try braising them in your smoker. Put them in a pan with your broth, vegetables, spices etc and put that in your smoker/grill and slow roll it till fork tender. Might save you a step.

He’s a squirrel whore, if you got squirrels you’ll get on the list. If you got fox squirrels you’ll move to the top of the list, lol.

I enjoy sending him pics of fox squirrels and him saying okay make sure to take note what tree they are in. We have yet to kill one of those bastards when season comes in. This is going to be the year.
