We have dealt with this issue many times in the house. It is a lengthy debate filled with emotions, personal testimony and hypothetical situations.

Republicans will likely rally behind a version we can get a consensus from our caucus. There will be many liberal, moderate and ultra conservative amendments offered. Recently the far right wing our party will use this time to play gotcha politics. I call it "the box" because no matter how you vote on an amendment or procedural matters you will upset a significant portion of your voters.

Political consultants will be salivating to get paid for polling. Potential candidates will monitor your votes on amendments so they can attack you in an election. It will be similar to the Constitutional Carry vote that would have ruined the open carry bill.

Let's say you vote for for an amendment that would allow the morning after pill to a minor in the emergency room who signed an affidavit for the police saying was raped by her mentally deficient pedophile uncle. Come election time political action committee invests a large sum of money targeting evangelicals with a flood of half truth attack ads saying I voted for abortion. It happens the last week before election making it nearly impossible for me to explain the vote.

We will have hundreds or thousands of amendments to sit through. Each one will put you in the box with a constituent group.

I am pleased with the court opinion. This poll reflects your opinion. The debate will be a long drawn out emotional battle on the house floor. The consensus bill will go to the senate where it will likely be amended. It will boomerang back to the house with a whisper from the senate saying, "take it or leave it". That is the life of a legislator.

So states like Missouri can outlaw abortions the day the SCOTUS delegate it to be handled by each state but here in the great state of SC our elected officials must poll its constituents to see where they need to lean in order to not piss off the masses and end their run of self glorification thru a servants heart.

Missouri passed their law in 2019. It only became active at the death of RvW.

I assumed that, which begs the question. What did the states that already had a law ready to be enforced see that ours did not?

Anybody thought of the girls that have been sex trafficked and had to get dozens of abortions..

Only for Planned Parenthood to sell the fetus parts..

Hopefully it will be a good day for those girls..

Or probably a good day for the 63 million that have been aborted in this country since Roe vs Wade passed..

    Those beautiful little babies..

We need to add mandatory vaccinations to the discussion.

Good post, Biz. Perhaps the SC Legislature should make it illegal to sell any part of an aborted baby. End the money behind this and a lot of the noise goes away...

Further proof politician’s #1 priority is re-election. Unreal.

Supporting abortion = support of genocide.

    Murder is a capital offense.

Plan Parenthood would have told Mary to abort Christ. Pharaoh ordered genocide of male children born and unborn. His heart was harden. Total Depravity. Evil abounds still many lack the ability to see it. From lesbian’ with a pink with Mohawks to hunters that claim to be conservative.

Now that CNN has people espousing Eugenics, we have made it full circle. Socialist takeover like the 30's. Humans don't really learn from history, we just learn how to use the lessons against each other for next time...

Could it possibly be that politicians vote the way they do, in order to be re- elected, because that's the way its supposed to work? Fail to represent the majority of your constituents, and you get the boot? What a radical idea.
