Wake Surfing Banned in SC Waters

Not a complete ban, but based on the wording of the law, it pretty much is.

"A new law in South Carolina now prohibits "wake surfing" on all state waters within 200 feet of a dock, a person in the water or an anchored watercraft."

wake surfing is different than boarding. no tow ropes, and all of their boats have huge water ballast inside to create a very large wake.

I am continually shocked at how frequently people whip tubers, knee borders, wake borders within 10 or 15 feet of my parent's dock on Lake Greenwood. Nothing like watching an oblivious dad whip his 10 year old kids within a few feet of their dock on a busy Saturday during the summer.
