    How cool is that!!! They can be one tough duck to kill too.

    When I was a kid hard West winds would blow on Lake Michigan and divers would pour off the big lake. My dad, uncle and I were like kids in a candy store. We'd smash them on the inland lake, howling winds and nearly whiteout snow made for incredible memories and icy boat rides..

    yup. Great Lakes diver hunts were a blast .The shittier the weather the more action you got. Last hunts in December were kinda chilly though.

    absolutely the last duck to leave MN when i lived there. you'd see a group of them in any open water next to a frozen lake well into november.

    got a print on the wall in my first operatory of goldeneyes. special bird, for sure.

    Cold is no problem. Nutz shot one while icebergs were taking out our decoys...
