At least your pintail went into outer space before it ended up on your wall

Mine too. I killed him right after the 1989 Christmas snow storm.

I never switch calls once I get birds to react positively. I've tried that before and have not had good luck - just the opposite, actually.

There is a spot on the left coast that will make you run off the I-5 bridge as you stare at 20000 Sprigs minimum in one wad.

I can remember when they were 10 point ducks. We used to slaughter them.

To kill pintails you got to be where they are. Always a bonus for me but they are thick in January around albemarle sound

I like a whistle and turn off the spinners. My 2 cents.

Poppa Bear and I hunted together the last few days this year and worked huge groups of Pintails in high winds..

Flocks varied to what they seemed to like.. But working groups of 50-75 Pintails with that guy was worth more than the price of admission..

One of my favorite mornings. Flock after flock decoying as the tide rose. Had to pick wigeon out.

I always thought you just put out a dozen pintail decoys in with 20 wigeon decoys and they just try and land. Crazy.

I hunted Block Island opening day in 1989. 85 degrees, still, and noseeums like fog around your head. The pintails poured in in flocks of 30 and 40, 50 and 100 all morning long, coming in 10 feet over the dike. I figured they overflew Murphy, which was blown out by Hugo, and didn't know the lay of the land.
