    Default Hunting Buddy Francis Marion

Army vet and long time hunter, new to SC.

Ive been staring at OnX satellite imagery for a while, but that only helps so much. If anyone is looking to go scout deer or turkey in the coming months or look for hogs PM me.
Been out twice to get my feet wet and see the lay out. Mostly finding cottonmouths and copperheads. They don't make great hunting buddies as far as I can tell.

    What's your blood type?

Any history of intravenous drug use?

Look for passion at the boat ramp instead and always carry a dead turkey foot for good luck round these parts.

Welcome to SC Ducks. Might have better luck asking for an open spot in someone's private hunting club.

Good luck. Thank you for your military service.

    Thank you for your service.

May want to familiarize yourself with regulations on WMA and FMNF regarding hog hunting. I may be wrong but I don’t think you can hunt them right now. Then there’s the yellow flies, Knats and mosquitos, it’s fishing season.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    Salty is correct on Hogs.

Good luck out there, I used to spend a lot of time in FMNF and there are good opportunities for most every game. Some you just have to work pretty hard for. Sounds like you aren’t afraid to walk, that will work well to your advantage. Careful out there scouting in the summer heat.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Haha, that's about the response I figured I'd get.

Thanks for the info, and thanks for paying taxes so I could get my edumication after the Army.

If you're near Summerville, get a hard copy map from DNR and give me a shout out. You can come by the house and I'll show you a few spots I've hunted over the years.

Scout drainages and creeks. Get a game cart. You’ll do fine.

This. Learn how to identify feed trees. Overcups, white oaks, swamp chestnuts. Fine one dropping and wait. It ain’t rocket surgery, just knowing what to look for and where to look. If you have to cross a little bit of water you’ll eliminate 90 % of the competition.
