    Default Carolina boy headed west

Last October I accepted a job on a cattle ranch in montana. I graduated high school last week and drove the 1,980 miles from Eastover to southern Montana. As an 18 year old who has spent his whole life in sc, this is a surreal experience. The country out here is stunning, from the sunsets to the rolling hills and pastures. I start work tomorrow and it will be a big change from working with 150 head of cattle to 800. I am anxious and eager to see how the future unfolds. I’ll post some stories and some pics, as I know a couple people on here who wanted to stay updated. If anyone has any advice for a fresh graduate who just moved across the company feel free to drop it

Enjoy it man. Spent about a year and a half in Idaho after finishing Clemson. I’d go back tomorrow if my wife would go with me. Beautiful county out there. Still try to go back in fall to chase ducks and trout as much as I can. Keep us posted on how it’s going. I’m jealous.

Have fun, I've enjoyed a few of the pics so far. Just like Guy, I'm proud of you, you're a cool solid young man. I told T, my boy what you were doing, he was like "wow". He's a bit shy at times, he was like who I talked to at bwood and on the golf course last year.

Man, you may not realize it now, but this shows an amazing amount of drive and ambition in a young man. I would consider this highly on a Resume if it came across my desk. Best wishes and like others say, enjoy your time, keep your eyes and ears open and mouth shut. You'll learn more than you can imagine.

That is cool man! Nothing wrong with going and experiencing life!!!

I haven’t met you but I can say this is something to be proud of.

As far as advice goes, keep your mouth shut and your ears open. You’ll go a long way in life just doing that
