I went shrimping Saturday for the first. I really enjoyed myself, but the only problem that I have is the fact that the other boaters are very inconsiderate to the other boats. We was working our poles and had two different boats run between our poles. One boat ran between our boat and the poles. I really think that people need to pay more attention while they are boating. People need to realize that there are enough shrimp for everyone. I will not let these couple of MORONS stop me from going back.

All boaters sould read pg 16. in their rules and regulation book. This is what the first paragraph sayes on page 16, "Vessels may not be operationed in excess of idle speed within 50ft of an anchored vessel, wharf, pier, dock, or a person in the water."

Elmer try shrimping during the week and the traffic might not be so bad depending on where you go, I agree it can get aggravating at times.

I was the one that was with Mr. Elmer. It was an adventure. The highlight of the day was when a boat with 3 guys came by real close and Mr. Elmer held his hands uplike what are you doing. Two of the guys gave him the bird, so he pulled his pants down and showed them a full moon. The driver of the other boat was pointing and showing the other 2 guys the moon, not watching where he was going and ran right up on a mud flat and got stuck. I thought that was almost worth the trip down.

Not to say they were being considerate, but what part of the above rule did they break?

How were you working your poles and anchored at the same time? Given spacing requirements, I don't see how that was possible.

Please oh great one, define NEG OP in a way that is not unconstitutional.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

Between runs and when the tide got slack, we anchored and caught a few fish. That is how they ran closer than 50 ft to a anchored boat.

That makes sense and I understand now. I wasn't sure if you were working your poles and anchored at the same time.

Ultimate questions - how many did you catc and what size were they?

JP-- come one now Law Dawg- it ain't unconstitutional until some lawyer tells the other fellow it might be and then the courts hear the appeal and agree (or the judge rules it is up front!!)... until then standing case law tells me it is good2go!! LOL (although there was the one judge who ruled "guilty" regularly on bow riding til his buddy was caught then forever after ruled "not guilty"- sit a kid on the boat then later pull his body from the water with prop marks in his head and you find that hard to believe...)

    T

ps-- sorry i missed your visit- didn't get the phone message until Sunday afternoon- we've been a bit strung out.
