Default Open Letter To The Forum

I have been meaning to write and post this for some time. I cared for my parents for many years, twenty six in all. On the off chance that any of you have cared for an elderly relative you know what a challenge that it can be. All of that ended for me last August 31st when I lost my beloved mother.
I want to thank all of you for this site and the contributions that you make here. You see, being able to come here and read through your posts helped me to deal with a very difficult situation. It took my mind off of my struggle. Like someone posted here at one point, "...this place is good, cheap therapy...", it was for me. Once again, many thanks gentlemen.

Been there with both my parents. Now my 93 year old father in law. He might outlive me.

Challenging job, caring for aging parents, but can be very rewarding. My siblings didn’t do much to support, and missed out on a lot.

Shotunderit, sorry for the loss of your Mom. Props to you for taking care of your parents. I’m sure they appreciated your sacrifices .

Sorry for your loss. I did it for my Great Grandmother right out of college. Made me promise to not let her die in a nursing home. One of the hardest things I have ever done.

I dont internet much but this is the only forum I participate in. I search other ones but this one will suck you right in.

Thank you, and you have my sympathies as well. Nitro, all that I could do was try. Hang in there with your FIL.

Thank you BB, I appreciate it. I commend you for what you did, I know just how hard it was, it takes a toll. My mother was able to remain in her own home because of me. I couldn't bare the thought of her dying alone in a nursing home.
