    Just heard today Lewis passed away.....Neil , Dick, BillyO and Lewis will be making noise in heaven....

    Great guy. Met him in the 80s at Unicoi. Have several of his superb slate
    pot calls Need to dig out one of the early ones, I killed quite a few birds with the original “ StoweAway’’

    One of the first call I ever bought, which was in 1979, was a Lewis Stowe Slate call. It had a plywood frame a scale with a corncob striker with a plexiglass tip. Wish I had gotten a couple of his trumpets before his passing. Fine man!

    Hated to hear this news over the weekend. Mr. Lewis taught me how to run a trumpet years ago and he always made time for me to stop by his house if I was passing through his neck of the woods. He was a true gentlemen and a hell of a callmaker. Prayers sent to his family.

    He was a fine man and call maker. will be missed by many.
