    Default Public Land Classification

How are named WMAs that are not listed as a Cat 1 or Cat 2 regulated for waterfowl? Can I just go out and hunt them as listed under the general or other regulations, or are they just not allowed for waterfowl period?

Would post names of places I'm wondering about but don't want to encourage cyberscouting.

You can hunt them at any time of choosing during the open season.

“Open season” being the KEY phrase there as named WMAs often have their own regulations and you need to be mindful of that.

10.1 – Unless specially designated by the Department as a Wildlife Management Area for Waterfowl or a Wildlife Management Area for Dove, all Wildlife Management Areas are open during the regular season for hunting and taking of migratory birds except where restricted.

“Except where restricted” takes you back to Named WMAs which may have a waterfowl restriction.

Appreciate the info. Are* the individual regulations you're referring to on pages 94-105 of the 21-22 regs?

Not sure on page numbers because I was doing it online.

    https://www.eregulations.com/southca...ma-regulations

Scroll down to Section 10 “Waterfowl
    And Dove Regulations”

Also, somewhere there is a chart with each name WMA and the allowed activities for each.

While I got y'all, what about hunting a river that runs between private land? For a general example I assume most of y'all know, the wateree river before it gets to Manchester State forest/Sparkleberry
