    Default One Man Game

This season has been a great one, so far it’s been amazing and full of good times in the woods. This morning I got to witness my son play the game with a bird on his own while I sat behind him and anxiously waited to see how he would fair. For the past 2 seasons he’s taken the stance that he wanted to kill one on his own, take the training wheels off and see if he could do it, I feel shooting them in front of a caller only garners so much knowledge. It was a fine 2 year old ripe for just that scenario that he found for his first. The bird gobbled just enough for him to choose a suitable position and he called to him just enough, not terribly to much. It was an amazing celebration at the crack of the gun. I hope everyone’s spring has been as blessed as mine, it’s been made.

We leave the woods more times unsuccessful than with a turkey across our backs, and it’s ok that they win more than us, but we’ll take this one with a big ole grin that’ll be hard to wipe off for some time.

I've gotten a whole lot of texts today because it's my birthday, but that one from you this morning truly made my day!
BIG congrats to the little man for crossing that important threshold. It's all different from here. He'll be critiquing your calling now...LOL

    Quite cool Rick
