Default Got my hands on a good one

My son and I tried to double up but my shot was the only one that connected.

Spurs mean more to me than a beard. My biggest set to date is 1-3/8”, but now I can say I killed a bird with an 1-1/2” spur. The other wasn’t broken but only measured 1-1/4”.

Y'all may remember but with my son's health history he has been reluctant to kill anything. He has a unique appreciation for life and I've let him work at his own pace. I've taken him hunting every chance but he's chosen to be an observer vs a participant.

This spring he's been asking to go turkey hunt vs me telling him we were going. We had 4 longbeards in front of us opening day of youth season, but they were on top of each other and didn't present a shot. The next Sat he passed a chance on a single longbeard. Last Sat he was ready but didn't want to shoot by himself. If we get another opportunity I'm tagged out so he knows it'll be his shot if he wants to take it.

I'm doing everything I can to give him another chance to get his first turkey. He's been talking about going back Saturday so I think he's ready.
