    Default Appliance repair question

Don’t know if there are any appliance guys in here but my baking element went out in my oven. I replaced and my broil or bake elements won’t turn on and heat. The fuse is still good. The stove eyes work but oven won’t heat. Could it be a board that’s bad?

What brand and model of stove?

Don’t know anything about that model, but YouTube has been my friend lately with appliance repair. Will that model allow you to put it in diagnostic mode to check for error codes?

Not an appliance guys but a cheap skate that hates to pay for something I can fix myself. First what happened to the original element? We’re they bad or is the original problem still there not allowing the oven to heat. Could be the thermostat or heater safety keeping it off. Also check the connections. Are they plug in or wired to the element. The plug in are notorious for poor connection. Also make certain it is like the one you took out plug included. Some of the universal element don’t work so well.

I heard a noise yesterday morning in the oven as the element burned into. I replaced the baking element and checked the fuse. Fuse is good as it ohms out intact. The stove works fine but the oven still doesn’t.

You got a volt meter? Check the voltage on the elements.

Pretty sure paradise city is not Columbia but if you get close G and E Appliance Parts can be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to fixing old appliances.

    Check resistance of new element.

Verify you are getting 240V to the element.

Google Appliance Parts Pro and call them. They can diagnose it and sell you the parts over the phone. I’ve done it several times.

I have worked on AC, Furnace, hotwater heater, ventilation fan, oven, clothes dryer, dishwasher, microwave, lawn mowers, and a whole variety of tape recording devises in my day. I can fix most anything if I have the time.
