Tate, Browns and Meat Market in Woodruff are all good choices.

No one has mentioned Country Meat Center in Woodruff? I haven't been there personally, but have heard good things. They have wild game and seafood as well.

Stopped in at Begley's in downtown Simpsonville on Saturday afternoon. They've been open about 6 months now according to the owner who seems to be a good fella. Picked up a prime boneless ribeye, some sage breakfast sausage and somewhat against my better judgement, some chicken/spinach/feta sausage.

Ribeye was the best steak I've had in a while flavor-wise. But it should be since it was $25/lb.

Sage breakfast sausage was decent, not at the top of my list but ok overall.

I'm not big on chicken sausage but I must say that the chicken/spinach/feta sausage was definitely the best I've ever had. Will definitely get more.

The worst part of the whole ordeal is telling Mr. Sausagefingers he done good with the Begley's recommendation.

Never been to Tate's. Brown's is close to my office and on the way home and their quality and prices are great.

Nothing personal against Tate's, it's just laziness and logistics plus no reason to inconvenience myself due to Brown's quality.

Going to Tate's means I gotta get on east main and deal with traffic and blue hairs.

You can go to browns meat market on Union St and pay $28/lb for tenderloin, or go to Browns Packing in Gaffney and pay $7/lb for the entire tenderloin and cut it yourself….
