    Default Registering an LLC?

I am looking at doing some Safety Consulting / Training on the side (also planning for ultimate retirement one day) and want to make sure the IRS man doesn't come after me.

Should I get an attorney to help or can it be done easily on line?

Also, should I do LLC or Sub S Corp?

Seek legal advice. LLC and S taxed at your marginal rate. No need to try and think you have it right no more than it would cost for legal advice for this. It’s very easy to do and legally inexpensive.

Yes , it can be easily done online.
But, if you are going to all that trouble to start a new entity, have an attorney do it all for you. It’s not that expensive and your attorney will make sure you are properly set up for your situation.

I had one (LLC) for several years, a long time ago; I set it up myself.

    Things have changed...

If I were to do it again, I'd definitely lawyer up. It could prove to be MUCH cheaper in the long run.

Any recommendations for an attorney in the midlands to set up an LLC?

Attorney and CPA have been discussed before. What about insurance? At what point do you consult an insurance agent?

And if it’s group or individual health or life insurance give me a call. I can take care of that. I used Todd and Johnson to do my will and I’m pretty sure they do business law as well which should take care of that
