Now there is something I have never seen, live or dead. We grew up calling them Auks from reading about them. Great find and thanks for sharing that.

Was trying to fend off my two kids at the time. Here are some slightly better pics.

    That’s wild.

    What is their home range?
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Yep - I hate when folks beat me to Bird ID threads. I've seen and photographed them off of SC coast...Mine weren't in breeding plumage, though.

I hold a lot of useless Information about birds. I have always studied birds from an early age. I always tell
People i’m full of useless knowledge. Friends think I’m crazy when I say that’s a cedar waxwing, or a tufted titmouse. I can just about tell you what any bird is just by hearing Their calls. A friend was skiing in Canada last year and sent me a video of a bird eating trail mix out of his hand on the slopes. It was a whiskey jack. As much as I love birds I do not photograph them. Maybe when I get older…..

I'm good at identifying birds. Growing up, there was always a PFG in the magazine rack by the crapper.

Saw a swallow tail kite yesterday turkey hunting. That is a new early date sighting for me.

That sucker had the longest tail I have ever seen on a kite and I have seen plenty. It was so long it looked like a snowy egret for a minute.
