    Default Propping a 1546 Lowe

I have a 1546 lowe that I just completely re-did. It’s a 20” transom with a 20” motor (94 40hp Yamaha 2 stroke with a big tiller ) . It has a PT-130 (6” of setback) with a cmc 5” jackplate on it that I’ve Drilled and modified to make it able to be 0-2” above the bottom of the boat. I think from people I’ve talked to that 2” above should be the sweet spot. I have a tachometer coming in today and I’m gonna play around with props this weekend. Anybody reccommend somewhere to start? I’m gonna be buying from skips on cross county road and dealing with him. Any recommendations would help. Looking to pick up a few MPH with this prop. I have a hunt one.

15p yanaha black stainless. Run it with tach. Then have the prop man add or take out some RPMs

15 or 16 pitch ybs or ybs knockoff. I have a 16p ybs knockoff i bought for $180 on ebay and it ran well on my 60hp Tohatsu pushing a real heavy load. Empty it would turn too many rpms so I jumped to an omc 11&3/4 × 17p sst prop
