Did that vehicle have an offset rear diff? Seems there was something odd about them. I had one briefly until a fella convince me that he wanted it more.

Yes. It's the wide track version. I read somewhere that there were varying offsets between J10, Wagoneer, Cherokee and the Chiefs. Mine has the Dana 44s.
