I have been very blessed to have two great retrievers. The first picture is that of Kelsey. Can’t say enough about how good she was. She’s been gone about eight years still miss her every day. The second picture is Gunner one of the best marking dogs I have been around. Just a damn fool when it comes to retrieving, he definitely one of the best retrievers out there.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
The reason dogs have alot shorter life span is because God wanted everybody to own 5-10 dogs in their lifetime.

Fish, I think I’ve sent you this one. Believe it was Teak’s last hunt at Delta West.

Beau, a rescue lab from Steve who had some good drive. He passed in 2011.

Silas. 9 months old. Brought him to Canada and I think he’s going to be an excellent dog.

I'm pretty sure I was there for that pic!!
Teak was extremely steady, great retriever. I think mentioned to Fish that trip he was too hard on that dog.
Hindsight I realized, once the standard is lowered it becomes the new standard. Great dog!!!
Unlike the Boykin who accompanied us. Literally barked at dead duck instead of picking them up. True story.

You all gonna make me break out my albums of 48 years of raising GOLDENS! The last one we lost broke our hearts as that was OUR CHILDREN over the years. Great Thread Men!
Gettin old is for pussies! AND MY NEW TRUE people say like Capt. Tom >>>>>>>>>/
"Wow, often imitated but never duplicated. No one can do it like the master. My hat is off to you DRDUCK!"
Cajun, makes me smile when I see you post about Cooper, I had a golden named Cooper who hunted with me for 14 years, words can't describe!! He was the gentle, hard working, best friend any one could have. He's been gone over 20 years and i still miss him every season.
Cotton is 5 and one of the best I've had.

Yes you were. That stock tank hunt was a real hoot. We got on em again in that field the next afternoon I think it was. Wind was blowing so hard the ducks were flying just above the corn stubble and I shot that pair off to the left without calling the shot…haha…sorry about that. Promise I won’t ever do it again.
Can’t remember exactly, but seems this was about all I could manage to post about Teak. Sometimes I dream he’s still here and the emotions are so strong it doesn’t even make sense. It’s still difficult to look at this picture.

This is my first retriever, she’ll be two in August. She picked up 93 ducks/geese this season and god only knows how many doves. She’s been way out west and just across the Mississippi. Damn fun watching her progress from hunt to hunt. Not to mention all around good pet, minds well.

She didn’t even pay any attention to the other dog retrieving beside her.
