Nice! I'd love to discuss what you guys think about bird numbers. I've made a few trips to and around OBX this year like usual. Puddle ducks have been the consistent bird on both managed properties and public. The migrators that are easiest to track (i.e., redheads, bluebills, etc.) seem to be significantly lacking compared to historical years past. Did the early season fronts move them to Florida, are numbers just down, or have they not come down yet despite these past few cold fronts?

    Great hunting.

I can't help but be reminded that prior to the corn pond boom, those ducks woulda been in SC with these latest fronts.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
