Default Non slip tape for composite decking?

Go a 10' walkway leading down to the dock at our place at Surfside beach. A few weeks ago I redid the walkway and the dock with composite decking. The walkway isn't terribly steep but could Probly be slippery when wet. Anyone ever used the non slip tape on composite decking? Will it stay put or should I look at a different option? I'd love to cut a few shingles and glue them down but I doubt mom would like that idea. Thanks in advance

Sand to scuff. Apply tape. Lightly use a heat gun until hot to touch. Add weight (cinder blocks work well). Let set for 12-24hr.

The biggest thing is getting the corners/edges to tack properly. If you nail that, you'll be golden and the tape will last as long as the actual surfacing stays intact.

Humidity, rain, and the finer sand won't matter as long as the perimeter is done properly.

Another method is to route it out about 1/4" deep. Pour epoxy into routed section. Coat with sand.

A much better solution for the locale, but much more laborious.

If 5/4 thick- rip the same decking into 1.5" wide strips and screw on top of the decking and your Mom's normal step spacing- if 2x decking- rip 1" strips and screw down flat so it 1" tall

Bad Habit is on it, that stuff gets so hot in the summer grip tape won't hold no matter what you do to prep.

You got that right. I put some on some steps one day when it was damn near 100 . I had to replace a couple pieces that got scuffed up by tools.

There is a brand of composite decking called Wear Deck- it's solid HDPE- stable- doesn't shrink or swell- comes in every board size and is US and all other levels govt certified for use as a direct replacement for SYP framing- they make cool deck colors- we walk on it barefoot in the worst part of the summer- and it already has the traction built in.
Lifetime guarantee- build a deck with it and never have to do anything again except clean it.
