    Default Well testing

I have an existing well on some property that a house will soon be built on. My best guess is it was installed in the 70’s by talking to neighbors of when the house that used to stand there was built. . Looks to be 1-1/2” pipe driven well. How does one go about getting the water quality tested? I imagine I will be hiring a company to come out and take a look at it, and hopefully give me some flow numbers, but I’m assuming I’ll be drilling a new one and prepared for that as well, but I’d like to run this one through its paces before I give up on it.

For reference it’s in Charleston county.

DHEC will do it for a fee.

I drove to their office, picked up one of their containers, and brought the water sample back for them to test. I don’t remember cost, but it wasn’t bad.
