Went on a quick hunt this am and got home before the snow went away. Good dogs are hard to beat!

“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. Only shorthair I’ve ever owned and I will have another….points birds, retrieves ducks, finds dead deer, runs rabbits and will bay a hog
When in doubt, shoot him again!

Work like it's all up to me, but pray, like it's all up to him!

Love pointing dogs. Have owned and hunted with many good ones. Keep posting them up. They bring back good memories.

We sometimes hunt off horses and I would not be thrilled to get down only to have the rabbit run off

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

First pup, I’ve really had a chance to be able to work with, and hoping a long life with him.

Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Pointers belong to a buddy of mine but I thought it was a cool picture. The shorthair is mine. He’ll be 5 in May and with 3 good legs has the drive to keep up with those long legged pointers all afternoon for 18+ miles. He’s been a good one and wouldn’t trade him for the world. 93090F3D-54C3-4CE1-B3CB-CB04DAF67397.jpg52778757-FF38-483C-8692-F1CA3332ABFE.jpg1BC8076C-1D93-42FD-A581-B4AF73F6291D.jpg86513831-C7F8-4412-A313-0DF088396FE8.jpgE367AF5F-08EB-42B4-A4BF-5D18F9B62253.jpg64FA0C5A-8CA7-4893-94E5-00723A58F016.jpg

Elmer. Braque Francais. Specializes in quail. Works dove and woodcock as well, occasionally a pheasant out west.
    That second picture is epic.
if you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same.....

Great looking dogs as well as a great looking place to hunt birds. Congrats on both
