    Default EDC Training

Any of y'all ever do something like this? Worth the time and money?

I haven’t. But I’ve thought hard about ponying up the money for the next time the modern samurai project comes down to Ridgeland. Classes of that sort look like a worthy cause

I have, but all my training was "free". I worked at a local gun shop/range and we had classes all the time for folks. Any training you can get is typically good. You should be presented with different situations and scenarios in which you will practice drawing and firing. I'm sure other variables will be introduced. Some are practical and others may seem "over the top". The point is to introduce stress and shooting.

Do you have to dress tacticool to attend? I'm not sure I have the appropriate patches and cargo pants.

I am sure you could benefit depending on current skill set and background.

Threw me off a little when they said you would be using your personal vehicle on training with paintball guns. Hard pass on getting my truck shot up.

    That’s not tactical enough.

Whoever is writing the course descriptions and bios for the “cadre” sounds like a cross between Rambo and Rex Kwon Do.

    I’d probably skip.

I’m sure there’s some good local options but for the most part I would plan to travel for quality training.

John Lovell with WPS comes through the state every so often. And Valor Ridge is another great option close by in TN.

I’ve shot matches at Sawmill a few time and it’s a nice range. New owners put a lot of money into upgrading that facility. I know nothing about their training.
I do know the folks at TRC near Fayetteville and Gryphon group near Maxton are the real deal. SF, CAG, and Law Enforcement guys with lots of experience.

Hell, do it in the summer and the balls may bust before they hit the truck! Screw a paintball in the winter!
