Default Sock it up or not?

Do you store your guns in silicone gun socks in your gun safe or just put the guns in there with a dehumidifier rod, etc.

I never have used the gun socks but was thinking about it on some of my nicer guns to protect them from dings from other guns in the safe.

    Just curious what y’all do.

My handguns. All are in "foot" socks. My better long guns are in long gun socks.

I use a decent oil on my guns and store them in a safe with no socks. Any kind of fabric will tend to attract moisture.

ETA: And a Goldenrod in each of the safes.

socks or pouches, if you question it, go up to griffin safes and ask him to show you the difference it makes in a fire.

Common sense is not a gift. It's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone else who doesn't have it.

Do y'all have any specific brand socks you'd recommend?

I have some wood stocks that have mildew on them. I have a golden rod, but may upgrade to the largest size available.

I don’t have that many socks.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

No socks for me. Good lube, golden rod and desiccant. I handle all with cotton gloves to put in safe especially the carbon steel guns. The stainless I don’t worry about. Set up safe in a controlled atmosphere is the biggest help.

When I get back in from afield, I just clean the gun with lube and throw it in the safe. I have never had an issue with moisture but they stay in my house in the ac. I tend to put the guns that get the most use in the front to keep from racking them together. The majority of my guns are wood/blued. Never really thought about the fire deal.

Ordered a couple bulk packs from Amazon. Hopefully they'll do the trick.
