    Default Single Largest Catch

I'll have to admit I was somewhat skeptical of using a net for a hog trap but it has turned out better than I ever expected. We had not seen any hogs for nearly a month but on 12/30, we had a large group of hogs move back in. We baited the trap and left the net tied up in many places to get them conditioned to it. Then Wednesday, we lowered the net most of the way down but left 2 areas for them to freely move in and out. Last night, we lowered it all the way. We knew the group was big....at least 20, but to our surprise it was 34. None of them escaped. It was a little sketchy until we got the big ones killed but everything held up. The only thing I'm going to change is I plan to topper net around the edges to them from jumping up and over.

Gonna be some full ditches somewhere.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Most of them were taken by others and cleaned. The smaller ones that didn't find homes were buried on my property

That much pork would cost you $34,680 at Whole Foods...

It's my version of pigbrig. I have about $350 total in the net, t post, and straps. PigBrig is a little pricey at $2500 but the setup does work.

Great job! I never thought a net would work that well against that amount of pork on the run.

Very impressive! I would be interested in building a trap like that. Do you mind sharing details on how you built your trap? Also where you got the materials?
