Offshore Conditions

I am supposed to be going offshore with some friends this weekend(sat), out of beaufort (I used to live there. This is my first time offshore, where can I find out what the conditions will be like???? Will it be miserable with the cold snap, should I stay at the house and duck hunt???? We are going 40 miles out.
