    Default 2022 plans

Never too early to daydream and think about next year.

I do not know exactly what my spring looks like but I think I will do a 4-5 day spring gobbler hunt in southern Iowa with the plan being to draw an Iowa archery tag for next fall. Turkey season is a great time for me to see the woods and think about deer. I probably won't see the woods between April and November so it helps me to "have a tree to climb" on the morning of day one n November.

Is anyone else planning on hunting Iowa next fall? I am hearing that Kansas was a harder draw this past year than in years past. I did buy a preference point for Kansas last year but I see Kansas as a 2023 or 2024 thing.

    Who is looking at what?

I need to start putting in for mule deer, elk, and antelope points in the west. I have to get smarter on that.

Ducks and quail out of state for January and February 2022

Red stag in Argentina in March.

Supposed to go back to Africa in July, hoping I can move to 2023 or 2024 due to time.

Probably cashing in antelope points out west. Might try to find a mule deer hunt.

Maine or Michigan for grouse, South Dakota for pheasant.

Duck and quail when November rolls back around, and some local hunts for bear and deer.

I will be in Maine in September on a bear hunt

I would love to do a public land deer hunt in Ohio. From what I understand it is an over the counter tag. Just don't want to do it alone and need to get in better saddle shape

I want to be you when I grow up. That's quite a year

Heck yeah, that’s a bucket list hunt for me but I want to go west when I get around to it.
Kinda shooting for 2023, looked at a couple outfitters online a little bit but haven’t got serious enough got to start calling any yet. Whittaker Bro is supposed to be a good one for what I want to do. Bear or mountain lion would be cool.
I want to ride a good good horse in pretty country, listen to the dogs burn it up all the way to the tree and shoot it out with a lever gun in a .30cal variety.

Turkeys in WA, ID and OR again. Maybe NM. Maybe CA.

What ever else I fall into. I've been told I need to come do a spring bear hunt in OR so that might happen too.

I've got some points for antelope and Mulie that I can cash in for a draw. Would like to combine it. May wait until I can draw both before I enter.

WTBD in Iowa, then probably back to Kansas for ducks. Would like to duck hunt in Venice also so that’s a maybe.
Headed to Kansas the week after Christmas for ducks this year.

Oh yeah, It's big time in Maine and NC. Maine is a "lot" cheaper to do than NC. My moose guide has been guiding bear hunts for 20+ years up there. If I do another bear hunt, I'll definitely go with the hounds.

I'm retiring in March and plan on starting in Florida a week later. sC all of April then Kansas and Nebraska in May. Maybe South Dakota and Georgia some where in there time permitting. I plan on wearing the tires slam off my little pop-up camper. Maybe Canada in September for ducks and hopefully fish for some trout out West this Spring.

These hounds look like a bunch of dogs you see on the aspca commercials with the sad music in the background, hence the term dogs. Old boy does have a mean pit that takes over once the bear is treed or in a hole
