    Default 2021 Deer Season recap

This has been a really good season for me. I put extra work went into food plots, which proved to be crucial due to the lack of acorns.
Early season I had to scratch the itch... killed two velvet scrub bucks with my bow.

The month of October was pretty much a bust. My target deer never showed when I hunted. Early November they were even more inconsistent. Last week however was a different story. I shot two really good bucks, one day apart, at our farm in Chesterfield Co.

11/23 my dream buck, the perfect ten. I have killed several 10 points, but never a clean main frame that wasn't broken up. I had no history with this deer. That afternoon I was on the tractor until 430 and planned on bow hunting a small stand down by the creek. Something told me to stay put in the field I had just cut, just enjoy the evening and relax. 15 minutes later he walked out and I had killed the biggest deer of my life. 18 inch spread, 21 beams, 4 1/2 bases. g3s were close to 9"

One day later I took my 6 year old hunting. No way I would shoot another after just killing my dream deer. Well, we slipped in the stand and 45 minutes later this ol boy came through dogging two does. I had to yell to stop him at 200 yards, and was again blessed with another no track job kill. This is the first deer Luke has watched me kill, and he was just as excited as I was. We prayed together, thanking God for life, food, his glory and creation. This stuff never gets old. 20 inch spread and busted up in a few places.

You've had a heck of a year! Great job

I have seen a ton of deer, and let themall walk including a nice 8 point that I should have killed. I was hoping my son would get a crack at him ut the neighbors killed him instead.
