    Default What is this?

Found this in the swamp near Holly Hill in a dry creek bed. It was hard and hollow. I broke it open on a stump, had to hit it a few times to get it to crack. Inside was moldy and full of seeds a little smaller than squash seed, but similar shape. Should've taken a picture of the innards, but I didn't.

It’s shaped like U of SC’s side of the scoreboard last night. No explanation for the seeds

Mahogany variant would be my first guess and the reason for asking the above question.

Hard to tell since the inside was so moldy. I looked up mahogany fruit just now, it's possible that's what it is.

It’s a seed pod from some Costa Rican tree.

Probably carried to SC by an African Swallow.

They would have to have it on a line.
